Project Market

Project Market

From June 22 to 26, 2014, in cooperation with Cimatheque – alternative film centre, the Robert Bosch Stiftung will organize its first Project Market in Cairo to introduce the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung for international cooperation Germany/Arab World.

Up to ten young directors from Egypt, North Africa and Sudan are invited to participate in the Project Market Cairo to meet with up to eight German producers. The Robert Bosch Stiftung will cover all costs for travel, accommodation and catering.

Workshops mentored by film experts will prepare young directors on project development and pitching for the presentation of their film ideas to the German producers. An introduction to Egyptian cinema and screenings of the directors' reference films will give the German producers a fresh insight into the regional cinematic art. Through one-on-one meetings the directors will have the opportunity to present their projects to the producers. Joint outings will help to intensify the newly acquainted contacts.

The meetings with the German producers do not necessarily have to result in partnerships but can help participants gain experience in the international co-production market and extend their network. In the event that a team is formed, the first step towards preparing for a joint application for the following round of the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung is created.
