Process of Renovation

Cimatheque’s Archive and Library space has been revamped with the goal to dedicate an entire floor to our archival collections. It will house our print and moving-image archive, host a library and display parts of our permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.

Part of the process is that our collections have been boxed (or re-boxed!)  You will see the photos (a snapshot of our archiving process)--from boxing to unboxing, to inspecting, inventorying, researching, labeling, etc.

Print

Through inventorying our collection, we’ve built an online catalog accessible for all.  In our print collection, we showcase the history of film in books, newspapers, magazines, personal writings, cinema scripts, and the list goes on.  Visit Pilot libraries to take a look.

Thanks to our volunteers who diligently helped us in the process. Check out our highlights to see our volunteers in action and learn more about our program.

Moving-Image

Cimatheque is equipped with a cold storage room that houses our film collections as well.  In our film collection, we have a variety of different historical moving-images from foreign, regional and Egyptian feature films, documentaries, home and amateur movies, advertisements, newsreels and the list goes on.  A small and dedicated group of volunteers received a training on film inspection.
