From April 10to 16h, 2015, Cimatheque is holding "Kurrasat Al Cimatheque"s forth intensive training session. The workshop's curriculum is developed by Khaled Ahmed Youssef. The workshop will take place every day from 2PM until 9PM, followed by semi-private screenings and discussions, curated and moderated by Khaled.
The sessions will be dedicated to creative writing, brainstorming and planning for the publication, and discussing and analyzing films.
The training sessions include:
o - Intensive creative writing sessions experimenting with free writing prompt. The prompt will be a single word, a short phrase, a tweet, a complete paragraph or even an archival material, photography or maps, with the idea to give something to focus upon while writing and sparking their creativity.
o - A daily writing exercise of decreasing the word limits gradually creating a short review, where writing is confined to fewer words (starting from 50 word limit and ending up with 10).
o - Discussions held around the films screened the eve;
o - Discussions around the short reviews and writings produced by the participants during the workshop.
o - Brainstorming session around creative topics, research and ideas for the publication.
o - Roundtable on the screening programme as a starting point for a discussion, studies and articles in addition to film screening for other examples of filmmakers who treated or dealt with the same subjects.
o - Final wrap up and evaluation session.
