Library Science Workshop
---
Cimatheque - Alternative Film Centre is pleased to announce the call for application for a Library Science workshop. If you have a personal book collection and don’t know how to index and shelve it, or if you're part of an entity with a larger collection and don’t know what’s the first step to make it accessible, this workshop is for you!
Through two intensive days (17th and 18th of December), you’ll be introduced to The Library of Congress indexing system, as well as cataloguing and shelving and the ins and outs of creating and sustaining your own collection of books or magazines. We’ll walk you through the whole process, starting from cataloguing a new book and creating call numbers to developing your custom shelving system. Therefore by the end of the workshop you'll be on the road to making your collection searchable and accessible.
This workshop is the first of a workshop series organized by Cimatheque to help facilitate and disseminate archival knowledge to further support archival practices in Egypt.
The presentation will be given in English, so a minimum understanding is required.
This workshop is possible thanks to the collaboration with Cluster.
